Role

As the Head of Finance, you will oversee and advise the CEO and other senior management on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and treasury management. You will also serve as the management liaison to the board and any relevant committee and be responsible for all financial reporting to Molecule's investors. Additionally, you will upgrade and implement an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures. This position requires a unique blend of traditional finance expertise and a deep understanding of the Web3 finance ecosystem.

What You'll Be Doing

• You will be responsible for advising the CEO and other key members of senior management on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and treasury management.
• You will serve as the management liaison to the board and any relevant committee; effectively communicate and present critical financial matters at committee meetings and be responsible for all financial reporting to Molecule’s investors.
• You will liaise with external Swiss and German accountants to ensure financial compliance for Molecule and its subsidiaries.
• In working with the operations team, you will upgrade and implement an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures.
• You will be responsible to plan, coordinate, and execute on the annual budget process in line with company strategy.
• You will be responsible for ensuring that Molecule is adhering to the strategic plan, and delivering status reports to the board as and when needed.
• You will also provide analytical support to Molecule’s internal management team.
• You will be responsible for improving administrative and operational accounting services such as payroll, accounts payable, purchasing, etc.
• You will play an integral role in any fundraising efforts (including that of Molecule, related BioDAOs and in any tokenized research efforts).

About you

We’re looking for someone with top-tier strategic and financial capabilities who’s worked in both rapid-growth and high-performance environments (e.g. startups, scale-ups, and a mix of management consulting, finance, or investment banking):

• 5-8 years working experience in Venture Capital backed start-ups, Finance or Consulting,
• Experience in a senior management role ideally with both business operations and financial responsibilities at a high-growth organization,
• Deep financial experience in web3 finances,
• Relevant working experience in strategy, forecasting, budgeting, treasury management, and driving key operational results,
