About us
Molecule is at the heart of the Decentralized Science (DeSci) movement where biotech and blockchain meet to democratize scientific research, earning recognition and support from key figures in the web3 world, including Vitalik Buterin, Balaji, and Juan Benet. We're known for creating VitaDAO, the first and largest biotech DAO with more than $4m in funding deployed, bio.xyz, a vital hub supporting and building biotech DAOs, the IP-NFT, a protocol bringing rights to IP and R&D data on-chain, and IPTs, ERC-20 tokens minted from IP-NFTs to allow token holders to construct and cultivate valuable IP. We’ve also recently launched Catalyst, a platform to launch, discover, and fund the best projects in DeSci.
Over the past 24 months, we have raised $20+ million to build the future of decentralized biotech. Join us and contribute to a future where scientific discovery is driven by web3.
Role
As Protocol Engineer, you will architect the tech stack and line out the economic and peering details of an upcoming network that will redefine how scientific progress is developed and how contributors are compensated and appreciated.
Who are we looking for
- an experienced developer who enjoys experimental notebook / hacker style coding but also understands how production grade software stacks are maintained and operated at industry scale.
- someone who cares about the promises of permissionless and unstoppable ecosystems that are aligned by incentives built on token economies.
- a visionary who agrees that artificial intelligence and crypto currencies are a perfect match to enable an ecosystem for science.
Responsibilities
- you’ll evaluate, define and implement aspects of a protocol that allows researchers, funders, DAO operators and external contributors to interact with intellectual property assets on chain.
- you’ll translate the inspirational inputs from our Biotech & Product teams into technical procedures
- you’ll support and drive our tech team to safely deploy, extend and maintain the technical components.
- you’ll help our application and UX engineers to build interfaces that allow advanced users to interact with the protocol components.
Requirements ****
- experience with building medium to large scale smart application contract systems in an EVM environment (Solidity / Foundry) and maintaining and extending them
- coding skills in at least one relevant ecosystem or tech stack that’s used to build consensus driven networks like IPFS, Filecoin, Cosmos
- professional familiarity with at least one system level programming language Rust, Go, C++ or Zig
- blindfolded usage of modern software development related tools like docker, git, bash/zsh and your IDE (we mostly use VSC)
