Get ready to participate!.mov

  1. Connect Wallet

To participate, connect your Ethereum wallet, if you have one. If you haven’t created a wallet, you can make one on Rabby or log in with social and a wallet will be created for you.

  1. Add Balance

Once you are connected you need to ensure you have tokens to place a bid.

  1. Bid tokens: This token is what you’ll use to bid in the auction. Make sure you have the right bid token, as it can vary by auction. The more bid tokens you have, the more you can bid in the auction.
  2. ETH: ETH is required to pay for transactions on the Ethereum blockchain and is sometimes referred to a “gas” fee.

To buy either ETH or the bid token on a centralized exchange, see here. Once you’ve acquired tokens, send them to the right wallet address.

Make your Bid!.mov

1. Explore auction status, live info and bids made

Take your time to review the Auction Live info and the activity from the other bidders. You need to take into account that values will change depending on other participants’ bids. We suggest you keep a close eye on auction activity and visit the auction before it closed.

2. Choose and approve Bid Amount

Decide how much you are willing to spend. Remember that the bid amount you choose should be greater than the minimum bid amount. Click "Max" if you wish to bid all the Bid Tokens in your wallet.

After entering your bid amount, it's time to approve it. This approval needs to be signed in your wallet.

3. Define your Bid Price

Your bid price must be higher than the minimum price. After adding a bid price notifications will guide you:

Low when the bid price you’ve input is near the projected price* and is at high risk of being outbid.
Moderate when the bid price you’ve input is somewhat clear of the projected price and is at moderate risk of being outbid. → High when the bid price you’ve input is well clear of the projected price and is at low risk of being outbid.

*Projected Price: The estimated price of the auction token based on previous BioDAO auctions (HairDAO, VitaDAO, ValleyDAO). This Projected Price takes into account the current price of the Auction Token and how much time has passed in the auction, relative to how much funding previous auctions had received at the same time point in the auction.

Before submitting the bid, you will be able to check the expected token allocation and estimated gas fees (transaction costs). You must sign the terms to be able to submit your bid and confirm transactions in your wallet.

4. Bid Submitted! Once you've signed the transactions in your wallet, your bid will be submitted. You can add a reminder to your calendar and join the Discord forum on AthenaDAOs Discord to stay updated. We recommend that you come back before auction ends to track your bid status.

  1. Go to Activity Your Bids We recommend you monitor your past bids in the Activity section in "Your Bids" Tab to check the status of your bids. Beyond bidding, it's vital that you continue to monitor the auction's progress. Fellow bidders might drive up token price, potentially outbidding your bids.

Real-time Bid Status Checks: In the Activity section under "Bid Status" you will find a snapshot of your bids and their statuses. Monitor here to see if your bids are outbid or at risk, and whether you should consider cancelling and placing a new bid.

Cancel Bids: If your bid gets outbid, you will receive alerts indicating the need for action in the Activity section. You can cancel your previous bid and resubmit with a higher token price for a better chance. If you don’t cancel bids that end up below the final clearing price of the auction, those bids will be refunded once the auction ends.

If you wish to cancel bids, simply click "Cancel," and the funds will be returned to your wallet. You can place as many bids as you wish.

Cancellation Period: Remember, bid cancellation is an option, but only during a limited period of time. The date and time for cancellation can be found in the Auction Live Info section and in Activity inside "Your Bids" tab.

2. Auction Closure - Claim Proceeds

As the auction concludes and settles, head to the left side for the results. Connect your wallet, review results and claim your rewards.

Success: Successful bids lead to token allocation. → Refunds: Bids not making the cut result in refunds. → Hybrid: You'll receive a mix of allocation and refunds.
